The Diversity

There is a great diversity of birds in Costa Rica with over 850 species. The reason there are so many species of birds can be traced to its land formation many million years ago. Costa Rica was like the bridge between South and North America when they first became connected. This led to many species from South America and North America to migrate to Costa Rica. Now, the outcome is an amazing bird watching experience. There are also six species endemic to Costa Rica which we will go into in more depth.
