Physical Characteristics
 

  • Red semi transparent paper like bark

  • Can grow up to 30m tall

  • Flowers are green, small, and plain

    • 1-2 mm in diameter

  • Produces about 6k fruits

 

Habitat
 

  • ​Found in dry and humid secondary and primary forests

    • Ranging from California and Florida to Argentina

    • Also found below 1,100 m above sea level

Other Facts
 

  • Called Bursera simaruba in Latin

  • Bark, leaves, and resin are used as home medicines to treat a wide range of sicknesses
